What happens if an energy user consumes less power than was forecast in a given month?
Info on what happens when an energy user doesn't consume as much as expected.
There is a clause in the asset lease that states that an energy user must pay for half of the forecast energy for the month in the event that their consumption falls below half of what was forecast. This is known as a "minimum charge" and you will likely see this term used in emails informing you of shortfalls. If the shortfall is due to a technical problem with the solar plant, then the energy user only has to pay for what was consumed. If the shortfall is due to some other reason out of Sun Exchange’s control, then the minimum charge is applicable.
